Do you want to work in a role that supports victims and witnesses? The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) are recruiting victim liaison officers to join their victim liaison unit in their CPS Yorkshire and Humberside Area.  

 

At the CPS, we are responsible for delivering justice through the independent and effective prosecution of crime. As the principal prosecuting authority across England and Wales the nature and diversity of cases we advise on and prosecute means our work is often emotionally challenging and complex. As such we employ over 7,000 individuals who think objectively, act professionally, show the utmost respect for others and continually strive for excellence.

 

In this role you will be working directly with victims, responding to their enquiries over the phone and via written correspondence and updating them on their cases – this includes if the charges have been dropped, changed, or withdrawn. You will be arranging and attending meetings with victims and witnesses, working with other colleagues and prosecutors to enable victims to understand the outcomes of their cases.

 

We are looking for hard working individuals who are committed to public service and have great attention to detail. You will be responsible for accurately recording all your communications on the Case Management System in relation to the cases you are assigned, and where issues or concerns arise, working with your team and prosecution colleagues to provide appropriate responses. You will be playing a vital role in the victim liaison unit for the CPS, helping and supporting victims through this stage of the criminal justice process.
