Senior Counsel - Reinsurance - (Full Time OR Part Time)

A leading Bermudian Reinsurance provider is seeking a mid-level Commercial Lawyer to provide responsive and commercially focussed legal support to London based underwriting operations which focuses on marine and energy industries. This business is a highly regarded reinsurance business not only for the services they provide but also as an amazing work place with exceptional staff retention. This role can be Full Time OR part time (3-4 days) per week (core office work days are Tuesdays and Thursdays).

The Role 
You will report to the EMEA GC based in London with a primary focus on reviewing assumed risk insurance and reinsurance contracts, associated documentation and NDAs. This role will replace an existing position where the lawyer is moving to a non legal role where you’ll provide the Underwriters with commercially and risk adverse advise on an ad hoc basis. Part of this role requires you to review broker, coverholder, adjuster engagement documentation.

The Candidates 
Ideally, you will 8yrs PQE gained from previous in-house experience either coming from a permanent position in-house or a secondment in-house from private practice. Must be a confident negotiator who understands the concepts of insurance / reinsurance. To succeed you must be able and willing to tackle a variety of work with excellent inter-personal skills and a keen willingness to work closely with the business.
