Are you an accounting professional or Legal Cashier looking for an exciting opportunity with a highly well-established Law Firm? Offering the opportunity to work on a wide array of matters, covering all aspects of client and office accounting cashiering duties.  ACS Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a Top 500 recognised multi-service Practice, seeking a pro-active Legal Cashier to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

Duties:

  • Accurately processing all receipts and payments across the firm’s accounts, in accordance with firm policy and SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliation work
  • Processing both client account and office account payments using the firm’s online banking facility
  • Posting client and office account receipts and payments to the firm’s financial system, in accordance with firm policy and assisting to resolve any queries arising
  • Assisting with the process of inputting disbursements incurred on behalf of Client work through the firm’s purchase ledger system
  • Assisting with the payment of disbursements, including ensuring these are paid when required under the SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Assisting with the processing of business supplier invoices through the firm’s purchase ledger system
  • Assisting with payments to creditors either by BACS or cheque in accordance with agreed payment terms
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of statements from suppliers and resolving all queries arising
  • Assisting with the processing of staff expense claims through the firm’s purchase ledger system and organising reimbursement payments
  • Assisting with maintaining supplier records in the finance system, to ensure all postings and payments are accurately recorded and paid correctly
  • Assisting with other day to day cashiering duties, including Solicitors Accounts Rules compliance, as and when required

Are you the right person?

  • Minimum of 2 years cashiering / purchase ledger experience within a law firm
  • Working knowledge of the Solicitor Accounts rules requirements
  • Knowledge of accounting packages and processes
  • Knowledge of using online business banking systems
  • Understanding of VAT regulations
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive in resolving queries
  • Accurate and attention to detail
