A great opportunity has arisen for two Senior Compliance Analysts to join an International law firm in their risk and compliance team, in London with hybrid or remote working.

The work is principally focused on anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing ("CTF") and sanctions compliance for new and existing entities.

The Senior Compliance Analyst will report to the Regional Compliance Manager, and cover either the Americas or Asia and Middle East depending on preference.

The main elements to the role include:

  • Identifying and verifying new and existing entities along with their ownership and control to access AML/CTF and sanctions risks and determine applicable Customer Due Diligence ("CDD") requirements.
  • Collecting and reviewing relevant CDD materials.
  • Approving, where appropriate, new relationships which satisfy applicable requirements, or otherwise escalating cases to the Regional Compliance Manager as necessary.
  • Provide advice and assistance to fee-earners and other professional staff in relation to applicable AML/CTF (including CDD) obligations.
  • Conduct screening to identify politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions issues and other regulatory and reputational risks.
  • Conduct and review risk assessments to ensure that the appropriate risk rating is assigned to the clients and matters and that proper escalation to senior management is triggered in high risk scenarios.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure that the firm's AML/CTF obligations are met.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining compliance-related documentation, including AML manuals, policies, procedures and templates, as well as compliance bulletins and other internal communications.
  • Assist with the preparation of training materials and deliver training for compliance team members.
  • Assist with preparations for regulatory inspections and submissions.
  • Provide assistance with on-going monitoring procedures, including testing of reliance on third parties and other risk and compliance audits as necessary.
  • Assist the Regional Compliance Manager with local, regional and global compliance projects as required.

Skills and Experience

  • At least three years' experience in an international compliance role with a focus on AML and other financial crime; preferably in a law firm environment or alternatively in the financial services sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with partners, employees and (where appropriate) with the firm's clients.
  • Strong research, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Client- focused and commercial aptitude.

This law firm has a great culture and they really look after their people on a personal and developmental level.

They are very flexible in their approach to working so they work either fully remotely or hybrid.

Salary wise the Senior Analyst positions are between £50,000 and £60,000 depending on experience.
