LITIGATION EXECUTIVE

Based in our Hamilton House office (London, WC1H 9BD)
Full-time, 1-year Fixed Term Contract
Commencing salary £45,415 plus £1,188 lunch allowance, per annum

The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.

We are now seeking to recruit a Litigation Executive to join our Legal Strategy department in London and support litigation work on a range of personal injury cases carried out by the Union.

We are seeking a qualified solicitor or legal executive who has the experience of running a personal injury caseload of moderately severe cases including fairly complex liability disputes on behalf of members of the NEU, and who can manage a complex workload of competing demands.

The postholder may also be asked to contribute to written communications on complex legal issues relevant to the role to members and staff of the Union.

In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including a commencing salary of £45,415 plus luncheon allowance currently set at £1,188; 33 days’ annual leave plus 4 additional Christmas closure days and a defined benefit pension scheme.

Prospective applicants are also advised that your normal place of work will be the NEU office specified in this advert and that the NEU operates ‘Blended Working Arrangements’ for office based staff, which means you will typically need to be based in the designated NEU office for 3 to 4 days a week (based on a full-time contract), with the remaining days based at home, and subject to business needs. Travel arrangements will be discussed on a case-by-case basis at the interview or offer stage.

Further details can be downloaded by clicking the 'apply' button where applicants will also be able to complete an online application on our recruitment portal, by the stated closing date of mid-day Thursday, 9th February 2023.
