Locum Litigation Lawyer

Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – Hybrid Working – up to £50  per hour Umbrella – East Midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer to join an excellent Public Sector Organisation in the East Midlands.

This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 - 6 months subject to likely possible extension thereafter. This role is offered on a hybrid working basis looking for a candidate able to travel into the office 2- 3 days per week and attend court as required.

 Ideally this is a full time position however candidates that can only work part time but have the relevant experience may also be considered as long as they are willing to travel.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority with a bias for Social Housing and Disrepair matters. It will be desirable to also have experience dealing with general Local Government matters.

Duties may include:

• Holding a full caseload of housing matters including issues such as Possession, Housing Disrepair, Homelessness, Debt Recovery, Unlawful Evictions, ASB Injunctions
• Negotiating costs and instructing other lawyers on housing matters
• Attending Committee Hearings and Injunction Hearings
• Providing general advice on any other Housing work
• Assist other case handlers with their caseloads
• Support and develop more junior members of the team

An hourly rate of up to £50 per hour Umbrella will be considered for this position dependent upon experience.
