Our client, a local authority based in the North West, is seeking a Democratic Services Officer to join their friendly team for an initial 3 month period.
The successful candidate must have previous experience of working in a democratic services environment. The Democratic Services Officer will be responsible for the management of meetings (preparation of agendas, reports and minutes), providing sound advice and guidance to councillors. They will have proven experience in scrutiny analysis, data management and policy work.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a democratic officer in the public sector, advising on committees, taking minutes and have recent governance experience is advantageous. The client is open to considering applications from candidates who are looking for both part time and full time hours. Evening meetings will need to be attended in person approximately once a week.
