Supporting the Data Protection Counsel to enable the company to mitigate risks arising in relation to GDPR flowing from the data services provided by the company

My client is an established UK privately owned business
Description
- Working collaboratively with all colleagues across the orgnaisation
- Provide DP advice across the business as and when required, from day to day support to contract negotiations
- Manage the GDPR risks that the business may encounter daily and ensure the advice is provided in a practical and timely manner
- Update the business on GDPR legislation changes, through training and education
- Work with the legal and GPO team to provide strategic and practical advice from project work to policies and training
- Work with and instruct external law firms on GDPR related business
- Support the senior Data Protection Lawyer on a day to day basis
- Providing daily support on new contracts, drafting variations, and reviewing supplier terms and conditions
- Working with and providing instructions to external counsel for work issued to them
- Providing support on ongoing projects from time to time
Profile
- A law degree
- Experience working within a business supporting a Data Protection function
- Experience in supporting a Data Protection function in ensuring all the legal requirements are met under the current legislation
- Possesses an eye for detail as well as a commercial, pragmatic attitude
- Knowledge of contract law
- Strong relationship management skills and confidence in dealing with clients and senior colleagues
- A collaborator and a dedicated teammate who works well under pressure
- Working towards qualifying as a solicitor
