Our client is a fantastic award-winning independent creator of family entertainment and brands, managing production, distribution, licensing and marketing.
The business is focused on delivering high-quality imaginative films and products which delight children and family audiences.
We are looking to recruit an experienced lawyer to join the team as Head of Business & Legal Affairs. This is a key role in the business, reporting directly to the Managing Directors and working closely with the relevant heads of departments.
You will be responsible for business, legal and contractual affairs across the company, ensuring they are coordinated, executed and delivered in a timely way to the highest standards and in line with the company's commercial goals and values.
The role is based in London, but with a good degree of flexibility around hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Line management and mentoring of a Business Affairs Executive
- Working closely with the Head of Licensing, the Distribution Director and Producers, negotiating and contracting key commercial, distribution, production and licensing deals
- Drafting and negotiation of option agreements
- Overview and management of all intellectual property to ensure rights are coherent and coordinated
- Providing legal advice on licensing, distribution and production rights and issues
- Management of external business affairs relationships across distribution, production and licensing networks
- Contributing to the business strategy on business affairs matters
- Working with outside counsel, where required
