Strong commercial law firm in Leeds is looking to recruit a Real Estate Finance lawyer of 5 or more years’ PQE. The role will involve running teams for secured lending transactions (including liaising with the firm’s banking and construction teams) and also acting on behalf of a number of borrower clients including investors, developers and owner occupiers. On the lender side, the team advises on all stages of real estate finance transactions, including portfolio acquisition funding, property re-structuring and re-financing, investment funding and development finance. This highly experienced cross-departmental team is adept at identifying potential issues at an early stage and working with lender and borrower to come up with solutions to minimise risk and to assist in securing internal approvals to the loan. The type of work you might expect to undertake on the borrower side includes:
• advice on structuring real estate finance transactions • drafting and negotiating facility agreements (including LMA forms of facility where appropriate) • drafting and negotiating security packages;
• due diligence on the secured property assets • advice on construction packages supporting development finance facilities.
On the borrower side, the team has a proven track record in advising on all stages of real estate finance transactions including portfolio investment funding, re-structuring and re-financing and development finance. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to develop their team leading and management skills in a collegiate and supportive environment as part of a successful and fast-growing firm. The successful candidate will have strong organisational and management skills with an ability to prioritise workload effectively.
