Contentious Construction Solicitor/Barrister NQ – 2 years’ PQE/Call LONDON

Private practice law firm in London seeks a contentious Construction Solicitor or Barrister of 0 to 2 years’ PQE/Call. This firm’s specialist Construction team provides a comprehensive range of construction law services across the wide spectrum of projects undertaken in the construction industry. Clients include private and public institutions, property owners, developers, funders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, suppliers and construction/design consultants. The role will predominantly involve contentious construction law and the type of work you can expect will include pre-action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes, TCC litigation, mediation, adjudication and arbitration. The ideal candidate will have experience of working at a commercial law firm with an established construction team (either as a trainee/qualified solicitor or, if you are a Barrister, you will have at least some experience of good quality Construction cases). A working knowledge of the most popular standard forms of construction contracts is preferred, as is previous experience of disputes to a lesser or greater extent (depending on whether you are qualified or newly-qualified) such as payment issues, change, defects, termination and/or professional negligence. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload (with appropriate levels of partner supervision depending on your PQE), as well as supporting the wider team on more complex and high value matters.
