Large commercial law firm in London requires a Commercial IP (Life Sciences) lawyer of 2 or more years’ PQE. The team works with businesses globally across pharma, biotechnology, medical devices, and diagnostics and research tool companies, as well as service providers in this sector. The group advises on a wide range of IP issues through the full lifecycle of a business across the various sectors, and across a large variety of matters - from high profile licensing arrangements, regulatory advice, to representation in patent litigation and advice on patent transactions and other technology related matters. The role will involve drafting, reviewing and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts in the life science and healthcare sectors, on behalf of a wide range of companies from start-ups through to multinationals. Furthermore, you will gain significant client contact. Whilst the majority of your work will be life science and healthcare related, you will have the opportunity to assist on matters in tech and other sectors.
Applicants will ideally have acquired experience in a well-regarded life sciences team, advising a range of clients within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and/or medtech industries. You will need a strong IP background with transactional/ commercial experience. Sound knowledge and experience of providing detailed advice on the laws, rules and compliance issues relating to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology medical device and health sectors is also important. A STEM undergraduate degree would be useful but by no means essential.
