Our client is a leading UK law firm - they are now looking to recruit an experienced Head of Reception to join their London office.

You will be providing an exceptional front of house service to all clients and visitors to the firm and internally to partners and staff. You will also be leading the front of house team, ensuring that they all deliver the highest level of service.

The core hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm. The salary on offer is up to £55,000 plus benefits. This role is a permanent position, and you will be based in the office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities as a Head of Reception:

  • Effectively managing the reception / front of House team so that high level service standards are met
  • Leading, motivating and inspiring the team; providing guidance and support
  • Recruiting and training of receptionists / boardroom co-ordinators
  • Ensuring that reception is present when clients arrive and provides a welcome that makes the firm positively stand out in their minds
  • Ensuring that the boardroom and café services are also immaculately presented
  • Taking ownership of any issues arising and ensuring they are dealt with promptly and appropriately
  • Answering telephones and routing incoming calls
  • Ensuring standards and procedures are kept under review and are aligned with best practices
  • Producing and operating the reception rota
  • Overseeing the firm’s café
  • Preparing budgets for boardrooms and the firm’s café
  • Preparing a monthly report of boardroom usage
  • Booking boardrooms on the firm’s resource central booking system
  • Ordering lunches for clients and internal department meetings
  • Working with BD / Marketing for the setting up of events

Requirements as a Head of Reception:

  • Senior level receptionist experience ideally gained from a law firm
  • Experience gained within professional services will also be considered
  • Solid, proven experience of working in a successful leadership / supervisory capacity
  • Solid, proven experience in managing teams and performance management matters and appraisals
  • Experience in recruiting and training staff
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Knowledge of IT set up in boardrooms via Zoom / Teams and speaker phones / telephone conferencing
