Senior In House Counsel - Insurance

THE ROLE

We have a exceptional opportunity for a Senior Counsel c 5-10 PQE + with a solid insurance background to join a successful and well respected international insurance business

The post holder will be responsible for providing and coordinating legal support, covering corporate and transactional matters, insurance, regulatory, corporate governance and insurance product development for insurance operations in the United Kingdom and European region.

You will be responsible for providing both legal and regulatory support to the business, working alongside senior management and the business teams a trusted adviser

The work will include;

Corporate transactions, M & A, loss portfolio transfers, joint ventures, restructurings

Corporate governance, advising on Board and Shareholder issues and governance-related regulations.

Providing legal guidance and support in connection with underwriting, coverage, product development, insurance placements, and appropriate claims handling.

There will also be an opportunity to advise on employment issues and general commercial matters

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a qualified solicitor with 5-10 PQE ideally gained working for an insurance company or a leading law firm

You will have experience of handling commercial insurance transactional and regulatory matters.

You will have proven leadership skills and will be confident working at board level
