Conflicts & Compliance Lawyer - London or Manchester Based

Our client, an elite US firm, is looking for a Conflicts & Compliance Lawyer to support programs including new business and conflicts intake and general regulatory risk management. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining substantive knowledge of the ethics and professional responsibility rules applicable in the Firm's geographic jurisdictions. This role sits within a supportive, friendly team where everyone pitches in and works to help each other.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Assisting senior lawyers and other conflicts department staff in identifying, evaluating, and resolving ethical and business conflicts
• Performing legal research
• Providing assistance on projects relating to conflicts
• Taking responsibility for general risk management programs such as file audits, accountants letters, and contract review
• Drafting or assisting internal lawyers in drafting, engagement, waivers, and accountants' letters
• Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers

About you
In order to be considered for this role, you will:

• Have professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the firm
• Manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
• Exhibit an advanced ability to perceive and analyse problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them

And have:

• A Law degree or an equivalent
• Qualified as a solicitor, barrister or equivalent foreign lawyer with an unfettered right to practice in their home jurisdiction

You will also need approximately 2+ years PQE and 18 months to two years of experience in a conflicts department of a major international or English law firm.

Salary is reflective of location and experience, but circa £90K-£100K in Manchester and up to £120K in London.
