THE ROLE:

The appointed Locum Solicitor will be required to conduct advocacy in the County Court, High Court, Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court or any other Tribunal in line with the Council’s requirements. The successful candidate will provide professional and technical advice relating to civil and criminal litigation and as part of this, will day-to-day be drafting, preparing and collating pleadings, witness statements, summonses, complaints and other legal documentation. Experience and expertise of both Criminal and Civil Litigation in local government is essential in order to be considered for this role as the Litigation Solicitor will regularly be required to advise on law and evidence.

THE CANDIDATE:
Prior experience working in Local Government is desirable. Applications are welcomed from experienced Solicitors who possess at least 5 years’ PQE and extensive expertise in both Criminal and Civil Litigation. Advocacy experience is essential in order to be considered for this role.
