Childcare Lawyer

A local authority based in South London is seeking a Childcare Lawyer for an initial period of three months.

The local authority is a shared service and operates a hybrid working model with the successful Childcare Lawyer required to attend the office on a weekly basis.

Childcare Lawyers within the team will be required to hit the ground running and have solid childcare knowledge. The caseload will mainly consist of care proceedings, PLO cases, discharge of care, wardship, age assessments and duty matters. You will need to be part of the duty rota. The council instructs barristers to do the advocacy on court cases.

Previous local government experience would be highly advantageous. Candidates must have a current practising certificate. Due to the urgent nature of the role the local authority is seeking candidates available on no more than 4 weeks’ notice.
