Senior Legal Counsel - Cambridge
We are currently partnering with a Global Tech Giant on a Senior Legal Counsel opportunity based in Cambridge. The focus of the opportunity will be to handle general commercial agreements and statutory compliance matters arising from the research and manufacturing side of the business.
The Role:
- Responsibility for reviewing and drafting general commercial agreements which will include NDA's, master service agreements, master procurement agreements, terms and conditions, SOW's, research and development contracts, consulting agreements and general procurement contracts
- Support the business with key areas of statutory compliance including anti-bribery, modern slavery, and data protection
- Advising on a full range of contracting issues ranging from hardware/software procurement through to research partnerships and business development/marketing arrangements
- Conduct training sessions on compliance issues and other key areas for the business, plus delivering legal updates to ensure teams are kept informed on relevant legislation changes and implications
- Assist in developing and overseeing the implementation of legal policies and support for compliance initiatives
Candidate Requirements:
- UK Qualified Solicitor with 2 to 10 years post qualification experience. Candidates outside this range who can demonstrate their ability to perform the duties of the role will still be considered.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing and advising a full range of general commercial agreements
- Exposure to statutory compliance including anti-bribery and data protection
- Good knowledge of intellectual property
- Experience of company secretarial matters would be advantageous
- An ability to work closely with a variety of stakeholders on a local and global basis to develop strong working relationship
- A commercial outlook who understands business needs
- Good academics
- A self-starter - able to work both alone and as part of a team
- Excellent planning, attention to detail, organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight time schedules, prioritising and handling conflicting demands
- Previous experience of an in-house environment would be advantageous
Salary at £70,000 - £90,000 per annum plus excellent benefits and bonus, three days a week minimum office based in Cambridge with the remainder remote working.
