Locum Corporate and Commercial Lawyer – East of England – 3 months+ – Remote Working – Full Time – Up to £60 per hour OUTSIDE IR35

Venn Group’s specialist Legal Team have had a very exciting opportunity arise for a Locum Corporate and Commercial Lawyer to join a progressive Local Authority in the East of England region to work on a series of interesting Joint Venture projects.

This assignment is for an initial duration of 3 months with the likelihood of extension thereafter. The Authority are looking for a Locum to join them on a full time basis however those offering part time availability may also be considered. The role is offered on an all remote working basis.

This position offers an hourly rate of up to £60 per hour OUTSIDE IR35 dependent upon the individual’s relevant experience. 

This role would be suitable for a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or highly experienced CILEX professional, with a background working in Local Government and previous experience dealing with Joint Venture projects and also liquidating them as required.

Duties may include:

• Advising on public procurement processes, tender documentation, the applicability of the Public Procurement Regulations for joint ventures
• Negotiating contracts for entry into a Teckal compliant joint venture company with other Local Authority partner
• Drafting and negotiating commercial transfer agreements, novation of transferring contracts and liquidating other joint ventures
• Advising across all Council departments and providing advise directly to Directors and Heads of Service
• Drafting a services agreement to provide continued services to the development company’s joint venture with another Local Authority
