Our client is a reputable law firm across the Sussex region, and is now seeking a Compliance Officer to be a key member of the Risk team, coming on board to raise awareness of regulatory requirements and compliance procedures in their Brighton office. The firm offers scope for internal progression, a competitive salary, and a good benefits package.
Hours
This is a part-time role working 3 - 4 days per week, with flexibility with arrangement of working hours. Some remote working is supported, but this is primarily an office-based role. Total holiday days and salary are pro-rata guidelines based on full-time equivalent.
The role
This position will require you to ensure that all legal and compliance aspects of the firm are appropriately structured and discharged including policies, procedures, and practices being regularly updated to maintain compliance.
Main responsibilities
The key aspects of this role will be maintaining up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations and have an oversight of regulatory compliance to include SRA, GDPR, Anti Money Laundering, insurance distribution directive. Your role will also include further developing policies, maintaining a register of policies and ensuring all policies and procedures remain fully compliant.
The person
You will be right for this compliance officer position if you have experience working within a regulated environment, experience working with accredited quality management systems, along with experience in creating policies and procedures. Good knowledge of GDPR is essential along with SRA, Anti-money laundering procedures, and Quality management systems.
