Hedge Fund – Head of Legal and Compliance

Our client is a specialist asset manager focusing on all aspects of credit and structured finance, with a focus on the  European market.

A   lawyer is now sought to work directly as the General Counsel Head of Compliance  .  With at least 4 years experience across hedge and private equity funds and derivatives this individual with have extensive  fund structuring experience and will be responsible for

• Monitoring and maintaining the ongoing legal requirements of existing commingled funds and dedicated mandates.
• Structuring and coordinating Hedge and PE funds launch projects (whether as Limited Companies or as Partnerships, whether offshore or onshore and whether regulated such as UCITs or AIFs or non-regulated).
•  Assisting with all legal requirements for Funds’ transactions / investments.
• Addressing ongoing clients’ requirements for dedicated mandates.
• Monitoring legal and regulatory changes and prepare internal notes/memos for what could impact the work and/or legal environment
• Assisting other members of the team as well as leading less experienced colleagues in all legal relevant matters and ensuring any documents are prepared and submitted within strict deadlines.
• Negotiating legal terms/contracts with trading counterparties as well as with vendors and service providers.
• Working with internal legal, compliance, risk, operations and business development teams ensuring accurate flow of information and meeting deadlines for various legal requirements.
