Junior Compliance Analyst
An excellent opportunity has arisen at a top 20 law firm for a law graduate seeking a career in legal compliance.
The Firm
The law firm is highly ranked in a number of practice areas including real estate, financial services, corporate M&A and litigation. They have over 1,200 lawyers across 30 offices in Europe, the Middle Easte, Asia and the US.
The Compliance Team
The team is really friendly and is made up of approximately 20 compliance analysts and senior analysts, with team leaders and a manager who provide excellent training. The team promote from within and this role has arisen as the current junior compliance analyst has been promoted. The progression with the firm is fab as they have senior officers, team leaders and supervisors.
The Role
The junior compliance analyst can look forward to being involved in both conflicts of interest and anti-money laundering (AML). You will be responsible for completing in-depth research and due diligence on clients to establish the structure and beneficial owners, using Intapp to ascertain if there a potential legal or commercial conflict and analysing if enhanced due diligence is required.
Other duties the junior compliance analyst will gain include:
- Opening new client matter files
- Conducting conflict checks on clients and matters
- Collating all the relevant information required and preparing client engagement letters.
- Completing Client Due Diligence (CDD) / Know your client (KYC)
- Performing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks
- Identifying Politically exposed persons (PEP’s)
Experience Required
A law degree is required for this role so you can understand the complex transactions and matters and have an analytical mindset. Any admin or paralegal experience would be an advantage, and any experience with file opening or with conflicts or AML would be a bonus.
Most importantly enthusiasm and a real desire for a career in compliance is required!
