Business Development Manager - Law Firm
Permanent- Full-time

Full-service law firm with offices across the UK, are looking to hire a Business Development Manager. The firm offers a wide range of legal services to clients in various sectors, including commercial and residential property, corporate and commercial, employment, dispute resolution, family law, private client, and social housing.
The successful candidate would act as a trusted advisor and provide insight and advice to the market facing fee earners.
Typical Workload
- Develop annual divisional and regional plans that outline objectives, activities, and marketing initiatives to support the Partners.
- Actively manage client relationships, collaborating closely with the Partners to cultivate relationships with clients and potential clients that will have an impact on revenue generation.
- Chair regional sales group meetings, providing coaching and guidance on lead and opportunity management.
- Attend external business development meetings and, where appropriate, assist lawyers in presenting pitches.
- Provide operational support to manage, expand, and retain clients.
- Possess the ability to coach and assist Partners and other fee earners in their client-facing roles, to maximize informal pitch opportunities and presentations.
- Through sector and market engagement and commitment, generate innovative ideas for campaigns and thought leadership, with the support of marketing colleagues.
- Deliver client financial reporting, reviewing issues and trends.
Skills / Experience Required
- The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of management experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with a focus on business development and team management.
- Proven experience in sales, with a track record of generating new business and increasing revenue.
- Excellent project management skills, with a history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and managing existing clients.
- A strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
- Must be a self-starter with the confidence to work collaboratively with partners and participate in sales presentations to clients.
- Strong influencing, communication, creative thinking, and commercial skills are necessary.
- CIM Qualified or similar (preferred)
