Costs Draftsperson

One of the North West's leading Legal practices is seeking to add a Law Costs Draftsperson to their team!
The firm specialises in Personal Injury, Defamation, Clinical Negligence, Professional Negligence, and Abuse, therefore this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a great team within a Liverpool Institution!
 
Duties in this role include, but are not limited to:

• Drafting bills of costs (using CostsMaster drafting software)
• Providing dedicated costs support to colleagues, both within the Department and the legal business
• Working closely with colleagues and Department Manager within a team environment to ensure drafting expectations are achieved
• Maintaining awareness of claim lifecycles and ensuring that service delivery is maintained
• Ensuring colleague/management expectations and outcomes are met in a timely fashion
• Identifying and adhering to department/group objectives
• Showing initiative with ability to work within a team environment but autonomously (managing own caseload) and the capability to deal with complex matters
• Liaising with colleagues to maintain departmental working practices and procedures
• Understanding legal processes and documentation including internal case management system
• Being passionate and enthusiastic about our work
• Thinking independently and taking ownership of work
• Being agile/responsive to work and adapting to change and evolution within the business

 
The ideal Candidate:

• Degree level/Qualified Costs Lawyer (desirable)
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Bill Drafting role
• Proficient in using CostsMaster drafting software to draft bills
• Excellent communication, organisation and research skills
• Good understanding of the CPR, relevant legislation, case law and costs industry regulations
• Experience of using Proclaim case management system (desirable)
