Clinical Negligence Paralegal - A clinical negligence paralegal is sought by this ambitious and highly regarded medical negligence team. You should possess strong academics and ideally at least six months of experience gained at a reputable firm. The hiring managers are also willing to consider strong LPC graduates who have a demonstrable interest in pursuing a career in clinical negligence.

  • Previous Experience: Ideally proven practical experience of working in a clinical negligence team or else a real and demonstrable passion for clinical negligence as shown by their academic record at university or at law school.

Working within one of the most respected clinical negligence teams in the country, you will be assisting solicitors and fee earners of the highest calibre. The role offers exposure to a range of medical negligence work, from fast track to assisting on high level multitrack matters. Cases usually handled by the team include:

  • Delayed or misdiagnosis eg related to such diseases as cancer
  • Surgical malpractice resulting in sometimes serious injuries from mismanaged surgical procedures
  • Prescription of incorrect medication or incorrect length of prescription
  • Birth injury cases resulting in conditions such as cerebral palsy, pre-eclampsia and / or hip dysplasia.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in a full range of clinical negligence matters depending on their experience. Examples of work include:

  • Reviewing witness statements, medical records and chronologies;
  • Instructing experts
  • Instructing counsel
  • Liaising with clients
  • Preparing trial bundles
