THE ROLE

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced, technically expert and engaging individual to join as a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) specialising in general contract law.

This is a wide-ranging role and will report into the Head of Corporate Knowledge but will work closely with a number of partners working across the corporate and commercial practice and be supported by the Contracts Steering Group, which will provide direction to the Contracts PSL in their development of the Contract law knowledge strategy for the firm.

This role will also involve working closely across the entire PSL community, with a range of other members of the practice groups at all levels of seniority, as well as with certain of central business services teams.

THE CANDIDATE

It would suit an experienced lawyer with an in-depth understanding (as a fee-earner, PSL, in- house lawyer or barrister) of general contract law principles and their application to contractual drafting, and ideally experience of supporting practice stream specialists to understand how developments in general contract law could impact a range of contracts across practice areas.

The role will involve a mix of internal and client-facing know-how activities and BD support for activities where technical expertise is required. Know-how projects, reflective of the practice, can be wide ranging. This role will suit an individual who enjoys monitoring and considering the relevance of the latest legal developments in general contract law and supporting the partners and other PSLs across all practice streams to help translate these developments into practice- specific contractual updates and related know-how.

The role is full time although applications for a part-time role will be considered. Flexible working arrangements are available.
