This is a rare opportunity for a Civil Litigation Principal Solicitor to join our client as an in-house solicitor.
Client Details
Our client is a well know public body serving the Manchester area. They are looking for a Civil Litigation Principal Solicitor to join their busy team.
Description
As a Civil Litigation Principal Solicitor you will deal with a full range of civil litigation matters on behalf of our client. A detailed job description will be provided on request, some key duties include:
- To ensure all civil claims and PVAs are recorded, and where applicable notified and reported. Manage all civil claims (including PVAs) made against our client from both from third parties and employees, pre and post litigation, whether insured or uninsured, including ensuring that claims handling procedures are in place and complied with for all external and self-insured programmes (i EL/PL, Motor and property) Responsible for the exercise of professional judgement when considering rebutting, settling or defending civil claims, taking into account the need to protect the reputation of all our client's employees and learning from well-founded criticism, compensating where appropriate.
- To limit civil claims by proactive effective management, providing strategic and practical operational advice, liaising with our client's insurers, loss adjusters and appointed solicitors.
- To assist with the procurement and maintenance of an efficient and effective insurance programme in cooperation with our client's brokers using the principles of best value. To assist with ensuring the management of the self-insurance funds to cover retained losses, conferring with the brokers where appropriate on the assumptions and calculations made

Job Offer
