Personal Injury Solicitor - EL/PL - Manchester - The niche specialist team of this 'top tier' defendant insurance firm is looking for a talented solicitor with proven EL/PL multi track and / or catastrophic injury experience to join their small team acting for a few key clients who instruct the team on a broad range of technical matters which include everything from head and spinal and head injuries to severe burns and abuse work.

- Expertise: Strong academic background and ideally proven EL/PL experience from a defendant perspective. Claimant EL/PL experience will be considered, but defendant experience is certainly preferred.
Small collegiate team - technical hourly rate work
This is a niche team which sits within the broader Large Loss practice group. The team consists of two Partners, 2 Legal Directors, 3 Senior Associates and an NQ and Paralegal. The team is looking to recruit a Solicitor from 2 to 5 PQE.
The successful candidate will handle their own caseload of technical multi-track EL/PL matters whilst assisting a Senior Associate and Legal Director on complex injury / catastrophic work of up to and beyond £1m. All the work is hourly rate and the team is also heavily involved in trial work.
What makes this opportunity stand out?
This is classic technical EL/PL defence work for a small number of key clients of the firm who require advice on highly technical often esoteric cases. Clients include 'tier 1' insurers, but are corporates particularly in manufacturing and logistics which often have cases involving serious injury of a specific nature. The successful candidate will handle matters anywhere from £50,000 to approximately £250,000, whilst assisting on the higher-value matters, many of which go to trial.
Responsibilities will include:
- Handling a caseload of technical multi-track matters including setting case strategy;
- Assisting on complex injury matters;
- Drafting pleadings;
- reporting to clients;
- preparing instructions to counsel and experts
- attending conference.
- Conducting research and keeping up to date with legal and industry practices.
Tremendous scope to develop and progress
This is the 'go-to' team within the wider Large Loss practice group for complex technical EL/PL work which requires a real technical and robust approach. The clients serviced by this team look to its lawyers regarding cases which are particularly challenging. The role offers the successful candidate a chance to join a supportive team doing the best high-quality impactful work with fantastic opportunities for progression.
