FTSE 100 energy business who are leading the way in power generation and renewables whilst playing a major part in helping towards net zero and a sustainable world seeks a Senior Legal Counsel.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Working on £ multi-million infrastructure projects as a lead legal adviser you will:

 

  • Work collaboratively with procurement and commercial teams through negotiation, implementation and delivery of projects
  • Handling complex contracts including FIDIC, LOGIC, NEC, EPC, O&M or bespoke
  • Provide strategic legal advice including contract interpretation and assessment of claims and variations through the project execution phases
  • You will build strong working relationships with a focus on the provision of prompt, thorough and expert advice
  • Look for continuous improvements
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the wider legal team and externally with legal counsel and partners

 

We are looking for:

 

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in E&W or Scotland with at least 5 years PQE*
  • Trained with a well-regarded law firm or inhouse
  • Sound knowledge of construction law contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, Logic, O&M agreements etc.
  • An understanding of project finance would also be advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness, able to work on day to day as well as complex issue in a risk aware  and solutions focused way
  • A clear and concise communicator
  • Keen to work in a high performing supportive team
