In House Counsel

We are recruiting an in house Commercial solicitor for one of our clients a leading international Engineering project management company.

Client Details

Our client is a leading international Engineering project management consultancy. They support industrial operators and public authorities by providing consultancy services supporting strategy, deployment, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management in complex or large scale projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior/ mid level Commercial solicitor to join a fast growing, innovative organistaion would be joining a well established, welcoming legal team/ organisation.

Description

Some of the responsibilities for the role will include as below. Solicitors who do not have legal experience in all of the areas but who have the willingness and desire to learn new areas of legal work should apply for the role. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior / mid level solicitor to work on a broad range of legal matters.

Working closely with the clients operational and bid teams to provide analysis of contractual risk in bids and bid input/mark-ups to

Drafting, negotiation and agreement of contracts: services contracts, MoU, uJV/JV, consortium agreements, NDAs, LOI, etc. with customers, partners and suppliers, in line with the Group's contracting principles

Supporting operational teams during contract execution on legal matters

Providing legal assistance and advice to the wider business as needed.

Support to M&A activity as may be needed

Support with Compliance, to include GDPR,UK Bribery Act

Profile

Commercial solicitors with an in house or private practice background should apply for this role.

Solicitors who have a legal background in Corporate/ Commercial Litigation or Construction who are interested in a move into a Commercial in house role should also apply.

Experience in any of the following areas Consultancy, Nuclear, Energy, Engineering, Defence, Rail, Transportation, Infrastructure, is desirable.

Solicitors need to have excellent communication skills, they need to be pragmatic, have good commercial acumen and be adaptable and flexible.

Hybrid working to work out of one of the clients offices in Blackburn or Sunderland 1 to 2 days each week and remote working.
