In-House Legal Counsel – Household Name Group

Household name group and globally recognised brand at the forefront of technological development seeks a Legal Counsel to work predominantly on UK legal advice as part of the global legal team.

This role can be done full-time, 4 days a week, or compressed 5 into 4.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a move in-house. You will work as part of a large UK and wider global legal team and you will get the support, training and high-quality work expected of a market leading business.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on commercial contracts across the group, particularly around procurement, IT software, hardware, SaaS, marketing, media and real estate. Including drafting, negotiating and advising
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Identify and manage risk
• Working as part of a cross-functional team on other commercial advice

• Manage contract disputes
• Support major improvement and transformational projects
• Provide input into contract review processes
• Manage external legal counsel
• Deliver internal training

Requirements

• Suitable candidates for this position must be a qualified solicitor, barrister or ILEX (UK or similar jurisdiction) with ideally around 3 years PQE. However candidates with less PQE but commercial contracts experience prior to qualifying (as a paralegal or contracts manager) will also be considered
• You may be working in commercial or corporate law
• In-house experience/secondment preferred but not essential
• Capable of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Proficient at working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to interact with the business at all levels and to assist with key business decisions
• Practical, commercially astute lawyer
