Costs Negotiator / Costs Draftsperson - The established costs team of this leading national law firm is on a major recruitment drive to strengthen its costs offering in all areas of the practice from personal injury (including areas such RTA EL/PL as well as areas such as clinical negligence) to commercial litigation.

  • Job title: Costs Negotiator / Costs Draftsperson
  • Location: Bolton, Manchester or Liverpool
  • Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
  • Working pattern: Hybrid / flexible
  • Reports to: Partner
  • Previous Experience: Minimum of 12 months in a costs role, though the hiring managers are equally interested in those looking to embark on a career in costs. For the more complex areas such as clinical negligence or commercial litigation-related costs, ideally 2 years previous costs experience would be ideal.

Opportunity to handle commercial litigation and commercial insurance litigation costs work

The national costs team handles all manner of costs files from costs matters arising out of fast track and multi track RTA and EL/PL matters to the most complex catastrophic injury-related costs work and commercial litigation costs matters. Such a broad spread of work enables the team to offer an excellent career path for any costs professional.

The department also handles complex costs matters arising out of commercial litigation cases and commercial insurance litigation matters. Multiple roles are available and the hiring managers are keen to speak with experienced costs professionals as well as those interested in embarking on a career in costs.

Wide range of candidates considered

Perhaps you have sound negotiation or costs advocacy experience or are familiar with Precedent H and preparing Precedent R costs schedules. In which case, we would be very interested in speaking to you. That said, we are also keen to hear from those with an interest in building a career in this kind or work.

Ideally the hiring managers are looking for some prior costs experience. For the more complex areas (especially costs files arising from complex areas of clinical negligence or commercial litigation), candidates with around 2 years or more costs experience would be ideal.
