Regulatory (Health & Safety/Environmental) Solicitor/Barrister 3+ years’ PQE/Call BRISTOL

Commercial law firm in Bristol is looking to recruit a Regulatory (Health & Safety/ Environmental) Solicitor or Barrister 3 or more years’ PQE/Call. The Regulatory Team are specialists in Health & Safety and Environment matters and work includes advising corporate clients and insurers in relation to investigations and prosecutions by a wide range of regulators including the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Police, CQC and Local Authorities. They deal with all aspects of advice and defence and are instructed in a number of high-profile investigations and in cases involving a range of regulatory breaches. The successful candidate will undertake a busy and varied defence caseload encompassing a range of contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues for a variety of clients. You will also be expected to delegate work to junior fee earners and to assist with their supervision. Furthermore, you will act as a point of contact for clients working in accordance with client protocols, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience. Assisting the department with marketing and business development activities is also important and this will include assisting in the preparation and delivery of pitches, presentations and training events.

Applicants will have experience of advising on Regulatory work including health and safety incident investigations, interviews under caution, prosecutions, environmental breaches, breaches of trading standards, food law and/or fire safety. Experience of advising and representing organisations in relation to contentious and non-contentious environmental matters is also important.
