We are delighted to be instructed by this international tech company to recruit a junior Legal Counsel into its Legal team.

Whether or not it is your first time working in-house, it is a great opportunity to join a successful and recession-proof entrepreneurial business at a time of real demand for essential tech-based services.

You will be liaising closely with colleagues in the UK and overseas to provide legal support and advice to the management, sales, procurement and finance functions of the company’s subsidiaries, with opportunity for foreign travel from time to time.

Although a true in-house role encompassing a wide range of legal and compliance matters, the bulk of your work will involve the drafting and negotiation of commercial/IT/IP contracts (including outsourcing agreements) and therefore previous experience would be helpful. However, the Legal team would also consider bright and enthusiastic qualified lawyers from other disciplines who are keen and willing to be trained. Lawyers looking to return following a career break would also be encouraged to apply.

The focus is on recruiting an individual who is not afraid of trying something new and can take a commercial approach to their work.

You will be working within a friendly, supportive and sociable team and can be based either in city centre offices in West Yorkshire or in Derbyshire (or a mix of the two). The team also spends part of the week working remotely.

Being able to speak Swedish or Dutch would be a real bonus but is not a pre-requisite to applying for this role.

As a guide, the successful candidate is likely to be around the NQ to 3 PQE level.
