COMPETITIVE SALARY & BENEFITS PACKAGE
We are delighted to be assisting Border to Coast Pensions Partnership in the permanent appointment of a Deputy Company Secretary.
Border to Coast Pensions Partnership is a collaboration of 11 Local Government Pension Funds with a total asset value of c. £60 billion (as of the 31st of March 2022). Border to Coast is an FCA regulated investment company created to pool the investments of like-minded Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds – our ‘Partner Funds’. Established in 2018, we are one of the largest LGPS pools in the UK.
Our purpose is to make a difference for the Local Government Pension Scheme. We seek to do this by providing cost-effective, innovative, and responsible investment opportunities that deliver returns over the long-term. This is on behalf of the more than one million LGPS members, over 2,700 employers, and the millions of taxpayers associated with our Partner Funds.
Reporting into the Head of Legal & Governance, you will have responsibility for a range of tasks, including guiding the Chair and the Board and its committees on governance matters, driving improvements in the governance framework, managing key stakeholders, supervising more junior team members, implementing the annual Board and Committee review process, managing action logs and overall responsibility for a range of company secretarial matters.
While fast-paced, this is a genuinely collaborative and enabling working environment. You will have direct access to senior stakeholders across the business including the board.
Practical experience is absolutely key to this role, as is the ability to nurture excellent stakeholder relationships.
We are keen to speak to individuals who are CGI (ICSA) qualified or part-qualified or those who are currently working or have recently worked in a similar capacity so can hit the ground running. The role would suit an individual who is seeking career progression from their current position. Experience of working in an FCA regulated environment would be useful but is not essential.
It is hoped that the successful candidate will be able to join the business as soon as possible.
