An opportunity exists for a Trainee Conveyancing Paralegal to join the busy Conveyancing team of a Top100 UK Law Firm.
Client Details
My client is one of the UK's pre-eminent providers of multi-jurisdiction collections and recoveries solutions for traditional and challenger banks, building societies, debt purchasers and loan servicers. Their Team have been working in the specialist debt and asset recovery arena for over 40 years and are proud to advise and support clients with mortgage rehabilitation, late arrears management and pre-litigation collections as well as secured mortgage recoveries and conveyancing. The purpose of the Trainee Paralegal is to assist fee earners to manage and progress repossessed residential properties (Freehold, Leasehold & Shared Ownership titles).
Description
You'll be working specifically in the area of residential repossessions. The role is hybrid working from home and also our bright modern office in Leeds City centre.
Trainee Conveyancing Paralegal:
- Assisting with a caseload of files from initial instruction through to completion of each sale and/or closure of our file, under the supervision of the Team Manager and Paralegals.
- Undertake certain elements of fee earning work under supervision. In particular:
- Matter creation on Casenet (our internal case management system);
- Obtaining and processing Official Copy documents and title deeds;
- Reviewing property titles with assistance
- Liaise with other parties and keeping them informed of progress of each sale
- Issue contracts for sale and supporting documents
- Help carry out appropriate checks with clients
- Ensure that all required documents and invoices are received in good time to effect completion.
- Help effect completion
- Deal wherever possible with routine enquiries and communications from our client (or their key suppliers)
- General administrative tasks, such as MI reporting to client
Profile
Trainee Conveyancing Paralegal:
- Be educated to A Level standard (grade C and above) or have experience in the sale of residential properties (ideally enforced sales)
- A strong desire to pursue a legal career
- A professional and assertive approach
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Be self motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and commitment.
- A team player who can be flexible and work collaborate well with the team
