Paralegal - Family Law

Location  - Central Northampton

Hours - fulltime Monday  - Friday 

Salary up to £25,000 

We are currently looking for a Paralegal who is passionate about all things Family. Our client is looking for a devoted individual who will support the Associate Partner. Due to continued growth they are looking to add to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience working in Family Law, or someone who has maybe worked in a complementary department with a genuine desire to re-train in family law. 

The ideal candidate will have a good eye for detail and experience in working in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working within all areas of family law particularly divorce, financial issues following divorce / cohabitation and children issues
  • Liaising with clients and contacts such as the court, other solicitors, barristers, and other experts
  • Handling and collating confidential client information
  • Drafting court documents and correspondence
  • Use of the Firm’s office management system and the ability to become adept at other relevant systems, such as the court portal

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in family law – alternatively - experience in civil litigation and a desire to re-train in family law
  • A genuine passion for family law
  • Ability to provide outstanding client care, and to treat all clients kindly and considerately
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for both internal and external communications
  • Ability to work to deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner
  • Ability to work in a friendly but fast paced and professional environment both individually and as part of a team
