Commercial Solicitor, Central London – A leading Top Tier UK Law firm is looking for an experienced Commercial Solicitor to support the Head of Emergency Services on governance, police advisory collaboration and policy matters. THE ROLE:
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Commercial Solicitor to join a national team of experts, working with clients in various sectors such as technology, media, retail, pharmaceutical, insurance, transport/logistics and manufacturing alongside work within the public sector for universities, NHS bodies, police forces and local authorities. The firm has a broad remit in emergency services that look at how they run the business side of the organisation, as such, they also advice on governance and public/administrative law for these clients.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting Police clients where the firm provides in-house services, which requires swift and accurate advice to be provided to senior officers and members of the client executive team
• Some non-legal activities assisting clients with implementation of government policy, strategy and managing major projects
• The work will include analysis of Police powers for Chief Constables, Deputy Chief Constables, PCCs, and their Chief Executives, vires issues and working on national collaborations in high profile and sensitive areas

THE CANDIDATE:
The successful Commercial Solicitor will be between 4 – 6 years PQE with a proven background in this area of law (experience in police law and providing in-house services would be advantageous but not essential). You must be a confident self-starter who has the necessary gravitas and practical approach to deal with senior personnel in a calm and pragmatic matter on what are often high profile and complex issues. You must be willing to assist with police misconduct matters and therefore have a strong attention to detail, good presentation skills, be conscientious and hardworking with developed critical thinking abilities.
