Corporate Solicitor / Associate - Leeds

Corporate Solicitor / Associate - Leeds (UK) - Our client has one of the most impressive corporate offerings in the North and nationally. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Leeds office which is set for significant growth over the next 18 months. With a particular focus on M&A work, the team sees massive opportunities particularly amongst its clients in manufacturing and technology as well as more niche areas such as life sciences.

  • Reports to: Partner
  • Previous experience: 1 PQE+ - Ideally a solid background in M&A work. Private Equity experience would also be useful. Hiring managers are looking for candidates with real passion for corporate law and a real desire to develop a strong career in the Yorkshire market.

Examples of recent work

The breadth of work is truly impressive. Recent deals include advising:

  • a PE house on the £10m investment into a leading tech / analytics firm;
  • a national professional services brand on the strategic acquisition of a leading business advisory practice;
  • on the disposal of a subsidiary of a major food manufacturer as part of a national restructure.

The team also advises on other corporate work including major JVs as well as cross-border transactions.

Rich variety of work across numerous sectors

Particular areas of growth are manufacturing and technology. Our client also has a real presence in the professional services and real estate / development sector which is expected to see more growth and consolidation.

This is a really exciting time to be joining the team. The Leeds office in particular is set to undergo some significant changes over the next 18 months or so. Despite contemporary challenges to the UK economy, a steady flow of work continues. Deal volumes are still predicted to remain resilient and our client is perfectly poised to take full advantage.

Team structure

The department operates in small, Partner-led teams offering lawyers fantastic support and facetime with Partners and Legal Directors. This is a team which will give you critical exposure to quality work as well as the support to enable you to develop.
