Fantastic opportunity to join a FTSE 100 business and work on high-profile off-shore renewable projects as a construction lawyer handling complex disputes. Full or part-time considered. Responsibilities:
Providing strategic and commercial legal advice on big-ticket, high-profile renewable projects.
- Working as part of a disputes legal team you will be a key member on large renewable projects particularly advising the procurement and commercial teams
- You will manage contractual disputes ensuring effective resolution
- Advising through the lifecycle of the disputes to ensure best commercial outcome including correspondence, advise on settlement options, formal proceedings such as arbitrations
- Working with industry standard contracts such as FIDIC, NEC and Logic, O&M, design, supply, installation and vessel contracts
- Advise on disputes outside this project from time to time
- You will build strong working relationships with a focus on the provision of prompt, thorough and expert advice
- Collaborate with colleagues within the wider legal team and externally with legal counsel and partners
We are looking for:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in E&W or Scotland or another similar jurisdiction with at least 2 years PQE*
- Trained with a well-regarded law firm or in-house
- Sound experience in construction law matters and dispute resolution (although limited disputes experience will be considered if there is a desire to work in this area)
- Familiar with industry standard contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, Logic, O&M agreements
- Understanding of off-shore construction in the energy sector an advantage but not essential
- It is also an advantage to have an understanding of project finance
- Capable of working independently within project teams and leading matters of high value (however you will receive strong support)
- Strong commercial awareness
