Sellick Partnership are excited to be working with a well-established law firm in Manchester where an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join their Motor team on a hybrid, locum basis.

Our client is leading supplier of legal services to the defendant motor insurance market, their motor team handles thousands of motor cases each year. They advise prominent motor insurers in claims ranging from outsourced, pre-litigation and non-injury claims to complex, multi-track personal injury cases.

Their areas of expertise include cross border road transport, credit hire, emergency services motor claims, fleet risks, indemnity and coverage advice, motoring prosecutions, pre- and post-litigation motor claims and recoveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting upon instructions, to prepare and investigate the facts surrounding the claim.
  • To prepare reports for clients, ensuring that all relevant information is gathered and appropriately collated in case management systems
  • To interview witnesses, prepare statements and instruct/liaise with expert witnesses
  • To draft letters and written submissions
  • To comply with in house billing and financial requirements
  • To provide management information including statistics on settlement rates and average claim spend.
  • To assist with Court procedures, document productions etc.
  • To correspond with clients and other solicitors and liaise with Counsel and experts where appropriate.
  • To have excellent relationship and client handling skills, being able to deal confidently and professionally with clients in order to gain and maintain their confidence.
