Prosecutions Lawyer, Cumbria – Exceptional career opportunity with enviable training and development opportunities for individuals interested in a career in Prosecutions.  Job Ref: 1953

JOB TITLE:   Prosecutions Lawyer
LOCATION:  Cumbria
SALARY:      £38,760 - £43,250

THE ROLE:
If you have ever considered a career in Prosecutions law, now is the time to take your next step!
We are currently recruiting for multiple Solicitors or Barristers to join the Crown Prosecution Service to forge a highly rewarding career in criminal prosecutions. Following an initial training period, a typical working week will see you spending 60-80% of your time in court, prosecuting a wide range of offences and utilising your varied skill set to achieve desired outcomes. The rest of your time will be spent on case preparation. This role is well suited to those with experience of, or an interest in, conducting advocacy and handling your own busy caseload.

A combination of induction training, bespoke training modules, mentoring and on-the-job coaching makes a career as a Prosecutions Lawyer much more accessible to lawyers considering a change in direction. You will be part of an inclusive and collaborative team environment where everyone is given the encouragement, support, and opportunity to succeed, deliver the highest standards of service and work with a large degree of autonomy.

THE CANDIDATE:
A genuine interest in criminal prosecutions, coupled with the qualification of Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales are the basic requirements to be considered for this role. Whilst experience in a contentious area of law is preferable, this role is open to lawyers from all disciplines with the desire to learn, aptitude for legal reasoning and the ability to discuss and portray their passion for this area of work.

A qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales, you will hold (or be entitled to hold) a full practising certificate, will enjoy casework and will be motivated by the opportunity to conduct advocacy in court on a very regular basis. High intellectual capacity and the ability to employ independent, logical thought processes will also be key to success in this role.

HOW TO APPLY:
eNL will never share your CV with a third party without your express permission. As part of our candidate care process, we aim to respond to all applications in 7 days. If you have not been contacted within this timescale, your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary level purely as a guide.

At eNL we value diversity and inclusion. We want to attract people at all levels and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates, whatever your ethnicity, religion, age, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other characteristics protected by law in the jurisdictions in which we operate.

In addition, if you know any legal professionals that may be interested in a new role, remember we do offer up to £500 referral fee bonus (T&C’s apply).
