Housing Litigation Associate, Tier 1 firm, Birmingham

Our client, a Legal 500 Tier 1 Housing Litigation team provide advice and support on all housing litigation services, including anti-social behaviour advice, disrepair litigation, access injunctions, and possession proceedings. They advise housing associations, local authorities, charity landlords and housing co-operatives throughout England. Due to internal growth and their excellent Business Development, the team are expanding. In this role, you will undertake the delivery of housing litigation matters, including:

ASB injunctions and committals / Defending volume disrepair claims - supervising legal assistants conducting files from letter of claim stage until assessment of liability / Defending occasional s82 Environmental Protection Act prosecutions for disrepair / Supervising and advocacy on access injunctions and committals / ASB possession claims including many with Equality Act, mental capacity and proportionality defences / Possession claims on all grounds - trespass; fraud; demolition etc. / Housing management advice and review or drafting of policies and procedures on all issues that can lead to litigation such as succession; mutual exchanges; new legislation etc.
