Property Damage Solicitor / Solicitor - This is an exciting time to be joining a growing team which focuses on a range of complex subrogated loss work. The skill set is basically that of commercial litigation. The team advises on high-value insurance claims arising out of all manner of serious incidents from flood and fire damage to chemical contamination and escapes from land and impact damage. These matters are often high-value and intricate involving analysing intricate evidence.

Overview of opportunity

• Job title: Solicitor or Legal Executive (multiple roles at various levels)
• Location: Greater Manchester
• Salary: to £55,000
• Reports to: Partner
• Previous Experience: Candidates with a commercial insurance background or commercial litigation background are strongly encouraged to apply. This role would also suit applicants with litigation experience in other areas such as debt recovery as well as strong personal injury candidates.

Complex, technical commercial insurance work

If you are looking to grapple with an exciting and technical area of litigation, this could be the challenge for you. The nature and size of these claims means that fee earners often collaborate across the firm's national network. This is a relatively new team who have already established a strong position in the market advising on highly complex property damage matters.

The team also advises on the intricacies of insurance policy coverage and often advises insurers when bringing new products to market. Moreover, they provide ongoing training to clients through regular seminars and updates to stay at the forefront of key developments in the law. Recent matters include:

• significant agrochemical claim;
• multi-million-pound construction related dispute involving a number of contractors and subcontractors;
• Highly complex multi-party dispute involving subsidence of valuable commercial asset

This is an exciting area of commercial insurance litigation and you will be at the heart of a busy department at the cutting edge of this area of complex subrogated loss.

The ideal candidate

A strong background in property damage would obviously be a major advantage, but the team also encourage applications from candidates from other disciplines such as professional indemnity, commercial litigation and debt recovery as well as strong personal injury candidates especially those with EL/PL experience.
