A leading National law firm is seeking a Police Lawyer to join their team in Liverpool.
You will be a part of a well-regarded department recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers rankings. Your role will involve offering guidance and legal representation to diverse individuals in Civil Actions against the Police. Areas may include: wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, human rights, malicious prosecution and discrimination.
About the role:
- Specialise in representing multiple police forces, claims handlers, and insurers in defending civil lawsuits against the police.
- Handle a workload of civil claims, both pre-litigated and litigated.
- Assist the Team Manager and other team members in developing clients, providing client training, and networking.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members.
- Coordinate with various parties such as solicitors, insurers, experts, counsel, and clients.
- Manage calendars, task lists, and complete client management information procedures.
- Attend court hearings, including conducting advocacy when appropriate.
About you:
- Qualified Solicitor from 3 Years PQE
- Candidates with experience in defending civil claims are preferred, although those with experience in claimant claims will also be considered.
- Capability to engage in advocacy as necessary.
- Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation.
- Familiarity with police law is desirable but not mandatory.
