Construction Lawyer/ Contract Manager - Renewable Energy
An FCA regulated PE firm which acts as AIFM and commercial manager to a publicly listed vehicle is seeking a construction lawyer/ experienced contract manager to support the Legal Director and commercial team in managing the fund's construction and asset management contracting.
Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have 3 - 4 years PQE of contract drafting, claim management, contract management, FIDIC experience. Experience with energy, construction, or infrastructure law required with EPC/regulatory (grid/permitting) contract experience preferred. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with others in a small team. Must have a strong academic record, excellent writing and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-4 years' experience predominantly in transactional non-contentious construction law.
- 3+ years PQE in commercial contracting in construction or infrastructure
- Engineering experience, familiarity with FIDIC/ NEC contracts, international experience is a bonus.
- Have trained at a reputable law firm or within the in-house team of a reputable energy, construction, power, or infrastructure company.
- Experience working independently and cross-functionally.
Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Work closely with commercial managers to draft and negotiate engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements and annexes, operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements, asset management agreements, ICP and supply agreements for energy storage projects.
- Work closely with the construction team to review and prepare claims, variation orders, settlement agreements, supply chain, financial securities, and other contract management tasks.
- Provided guidance and support in various other tasks, procurement, service, and operations transactions.
- Support Legal Director to structure and negotiate RTMs/PPA, energy storage asset purchases, acquisition completion process.
