Large commercial law firm in Leeds is seeking to recruit a Planning lawyer of between 0 and 4 years’ PQE. The Planning Team sits within this firm’s broader Real Estate Practice Group. The team has a wealth of experience in all aspects of planning law, including advising clients who are commercial developers, residential and leisure developers, energy and utility companies, local authorities, retailers and football clubs. They advise a range of developers and local authorities on all aspects of proposed developments, including: the need for environmental impact assessment; the form and content of applications; negotiations with local authorities and the preparation of associated legal agreements. They are instructed on major projects all around the country, including: nationally significant infrastructure projects; urban regeneration schemes; mixed-use schemes; commercial, industrial, residential, retail, employment and leisure developments. The successful candidate will provide high quality support to the team and will gain valuable first-hand experience across a broad spectrum of work. You will benefit from a close-knit environment with excellent exposure to work and client contact. Due to the close-knit nature of this practice group, you will begin building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues from the outset, so you must have good interpersonal skills and be eager to be a valued part of a team. We recognise hard work and commitment; and in return, we will give you the opportunity to develop and gain valuable experience of interesting and challenging matters. You may already have a number of years' experience in a Planning department, or you may be looking to start your career in Planning law, but regardless, you will demonstrate a real passion for law coupled with a commercial mind-set and a solutions- and service-driven approach. You will be used to working in a commercial environment, have the ability to organise, communicate effectively and work on your own initiative, whilst knowing when to seek guidance.

As an inclusive and supportive employer, this firm would welcome a conversation if you are looking for a role that offers part-time hours or flexible working options. Similarly, they can also consider a relocation package for candidates looking to relocate to the Leeds area. They also offer competitive pay and an attractive bonus and benefits package.
