My client is a well-known local law firm with a strong reputation for providing exceptional legal services across various practice areas. Their employment law department is highly regarded for its expertise in advising employees on a wide range of employment-related matters, including contracts, discrimination, dismissals, redundancy, and workplace disputes. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employment Solicitor to join their firm and contribute to their excellent employment law department.

Position Overview:

As an Employment Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of employment matters, representing a range of clients. You will provide expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of employment law issues, including drafting contracts and policies, handling disciplinary and grievance procedures, advising on redundancy and restructuring, and representing clients in employment tribunals. Your role will involve building strong client relationships, conducting legal research, and ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of legal services.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of employment law matters, including advising on contracts, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients on various employment law issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases and stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and case law developments.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements, and other related documents.
  • Assist clients in handling disciplinary and grievance procedures, including conducting investigations and preparing for hearings.
  • Advise on redundancy, restructuring, and termination matters, ensuring compliance with employment law requirements.
  • Represent clients in employment tribunal proceedings, including preparing witness statements, conducting negotiations, and presenting arguments.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and a client-centric approach.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other practice areas, such as corporate law and dispute resolution, to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
  • Participate in business development activities, including networking events and client seminars, to generate new business opportunities.

About You:

  • Qualified solicitor in the UK, 3+ PQE, with a strong focus on employment law.
  • Proven experience handling a wide range of employment law matters.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling the identification of practical solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience representing clients in employment tribunal proceedings is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work well under pressure.
  • A client-centric approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
