Position Overview:
As a Medical Negligence Solicitor, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of medical negligence claims from inception to settlement or court. You will work closely with clients, conducting thorough investigations, reviewing medical records, gathering evidence, and liaising with medical experts to build compelling cases. Your primary goal will be to advocate for your clients' rights, negotiate settlements, and represent them in court when necessary.
Responsibilities (Depending on PQE):
- Manage a caseload of medical negligence claims, ensuring all deadlines and court procedures are followed.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their cases and gather relevant information.
- Analyse medical records, expert reports, and other evidence to assess the viability of claims.
- Liaise with medical experts to obtain opinions and evidence supporting the clients' claims.
- Prepare comprehensive legal documents, including letters of claim and witness statements.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance companies.
- Represent clients in court proceedings and advocate their interests during trials.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in medical negligence law and maintain a high level of professional knowledge.
About you:
- Qualified solicitor in the UK with a strong passion for medical negligence law.
- Prior experience handling claimant medical negligence cases from start to finish would be an advantage, however full training will be provided
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and case precedents.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and able to work with clients who have suffered significant harm.
- A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues and experts.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work well under pressure.
