Accounting Specialist

One of the City of London’s most established full-service US law firms has created a new opportunity for a part-qualified legal Accounting Specialist. The successful applicant will support the Management Accounting and Transactional teams with preparing monthly accounts whilst reviewing processes for their London & European offices.

There are approximately 10 staff in the London Accounts Team. They operate standard working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm, offering an agile working policy of Tues-Thur in the office, Mon & Fri working remotely.

Reporting into the Senior Accounts Manager, the Accounting Specialist will support with the review and development of all London office accounting controls, policies, projects and procedures. This will involve maintaining and preparing monthly fixed asset accounting, payroll accounting, balance sheets, quarterly partnership tax accounts accrual reporting, quarterly VAT returns, foreign currency journals and cash flow forecast reporting. Additionally, you be required to review and maintain the general AP and expense ledgers and periodic payment runs.

Candidates will be degree educated and currently studying a recognised accountancy qualification as well as coming from a background in legal finance and accounting management with knowledge of SRA procedures and guidelines. Advanced Excel skills are a must as well as knowledge of accounting systems, Chrome River & Elite 3E (desirable however not essential).

This is a permanent position offering a salary dependent on experience of £50,000 - £60,000 including an attractive pension plan and a host of benefits including free meals throughout the day.
